DescriptionSmall hollow ceramic egg. Black underglaze with etched (scraffito) white design of Pueblo Butterfly dancer. Artist's signature near base on opposite side of egg from dancer. Small opening in bottom of egg.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit February 17-19, 2016 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 5”): This piece is made with all commercial products. Darrell is Santa Clara and is married to Donna Chino, who is Acoma.

According to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit May 22-24, 2018 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 11”: Donna Chino, Darell’s wife, stated that he is Acoma and Santa Claran. He began doing scraffito designs in the early 1990s. Darell was inspired by his aunt, Pablita Velarde’s, work. He has also done paintings and often donates his work for fundraising events.
