Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit April 6 and 7, 2009 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 1”): This jar is not ceremonial. It should remain classified as pseudo-ceremonial because it was it was made to “look” ceremonial to people outside of the community, though it is not and does not even follow Zuni ceramic traditions because of the hole in the wall of the jar. The hole in the wall of the jar is not a traditional characteristic of any type of Zuni ceramics. This piece is okay for research and publication as long as it is made clear that it is not ceremonial.
