Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit December 7 and 8, 2010 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 5”): The materials used are an unknown white shell, travertine (the brown cow heads), turquoise, jet, and an unknown black stone (the black cow’s head). Compare these to the photo to be sure correct. The piece is an early “fetish” necklace (carvings necklace), as stated in the current catalog description.
