DescriptionA vase with a round and almost-flattened form. The mouth of the vase is off-center. There are two small, black, round ceramic balls glued to the shoulder of the vase, set just above a long, narrow, oblong cutout in the wall of the vessle, located near the edge of the right side. The vase was made with clay from Santa Clara, while the surface was finished in a heavily micaceous slip, which gives it a glittery appearance. The piece was fired with the oxygen-reducing method used to make black pottery, which is why it's a dark gray color.
