DescriptionWater jar; cream slip with black painted decoration. The design consists of a large motif with a cricular center; four points with bold lines and waves; plant-like motifs extending from sides. Red band around unslipped underbody; concave base; fireclouds.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Tesuque collection review visit March 9-10, 2020 (Events Record “Collection Review: Tesuque Pueblo Review 2"): This jar has damage from use as a water jar which is apparent on the exterior. It appears there may have been some coils that did not get fully sealed together. There is pine pitch on the interior at the coils that didn't get sealed together properly which could be an attempt to make the jar waterproof.
