* Please note: Mary Trujillo is Ohkay Owingeh (San Juan) and Isleta, but married into Cochiti Pueblo (Leonard Trujillo). She learned how to make Cochiti-style pottery from her mother-in-law, Helen Cordero, and works in that style.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Isleta collection review visit May 2 3, 2022 (Events Record “Collection Review: Isleta Collection Review 2"): This mudhead figurine is made with micaceous clay. There are holes in the eyes and for the mouth to prevent the figurine from exploding while it was fired.
