DescriptionBurden basket. Predominantly white basket with three horizontal bands of brown decoration. Four vertical decorative bands of red cotton cloth and white, brain-tanned leather sewn to the outside of the basket. Bottom also covered in red cloth and white leather. Long white suede fringe attached to rim of basket, on red and white decorative bands, and on base of basket. Burden strap attached to basket, through two adjacent red and white bands. Materials used are: cottonwood (foundation), willow and devil's claw (stitches), cotton cloth, brain-tanned leather.
