DescriptionAcoma black-on-white bowl. White slipped interior with black painted decoration. The design consist of a Mimbres-style grasshopper motif in the center. White exterior.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit November 29-30, and December 1, 2016 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 7”): This bowl is hand made with traditional natural materials and was fired outdoors. Nothing more was said about this bowl.

According to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit May 22-24, 2018 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 11”): The design is very clean and is an interpretation of a grasshopper. This bowl was hand polished. Donna Chino, Sarah’s daughter, stated that the clay she used to make this bowl was from an older clay source at Acoma.
