DescriptionAcoma polychrome turkey bowl; three-color; white slip with black and red painted decoration. The design consists of un-bordered orange flowers with black leaves. Turkey head and loop tail.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit November 29-30, and December 1, 2016 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 7”): This turkey basket is handmade with traditional materials including the clay and paints and was fired outdoors. The participants believe this may have been made by either Juana Leno or Santana Sanchez.
