DescriptionAcoma polychrome small jar; three-color; white slip with dark brown and orange painted decoration. The design consists of two bands of two alternating motifs around the body of the pot. One is a split orange square and the other a black triangle with an arc. Red interior rim, white underbody, and flat base.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit May 9-11, 2017 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 8”): Mary Histia, the artist of this piece, is known for painting larger more elaborate designs. This type of simple design is uncommon for her to have painted, however, the desigin is a typical Acoma design.
