DescriptionAcoma polychrome large bow; three-color; white slip with black and orange painted decoration. The design consists of eight panels of design of stepped triangles, hatching, and orange triangles. White interior, indented design on rim, and flat white base.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit April 3-5, 2018 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 10”): This bowl was made using traditional materials and paints. The temper used in the clay to make this bowl is pottery sherds. Because of this size of this bowl, it is likely that the base used to build it on was a basket. The coil on the rim was added to include the indentations.
