DescriptionFour birds flying around a white plant with two large flowers that are blue and white. There are white clouds in the background. Two birds are blue, one is black, and one is outlined in black, but not filled in with any color. The edges of the paper (where they were protected by a mat) are purple, while the center has faded to brown.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksOctavius Seowtewa during collection review visit Nov. 16 and 17, 2009 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 3”): Mr. Seowtewa identified the birds depicted in the painting as possibly hummingbirds. The Quandelacy family is well-known for fetish carving, but Wilmer Quandelacy does not make fetishes.
