Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit June 10 and 11, 2009 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 2”): The dancer depicted here is the Eagle Dancer. The Zuni word for eagle is “Kyakyali.” The artist, Pete Gasper, works as a silversmith and carver of the small stone carvings that are often called "fetishes" (but which are more correctly called carvings), in addition to painting. He is most well-known for his carvings.
