DescriptionAcoma polychrome bowl; four-color; white slip with black and orange decoration. The design consists of a repeating rain bird design. Triangle with hatching ending in a scroll that become the rain bird, with three set of three feathers. Red underbody, black rim.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit June 26-27, 2017 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 9”): The large popouts on this bowl are caused by air bubbles in the clay. Brian Vallo says he has seen a design like this on a later Lucy Lewis pot.
