Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit December 7 and 8, 2010 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 5”): The materials used are silver, copper, mother of pearl (the “white shell” mentioned in a previous catalog description), coral, tortoiseshell, abalone, turquoise, copper, and leather. The technique used is channel inlay. The silver and inlay conchas are held in place on the belt by copper belt loops. The Zuni word for rainbow is amidolanne.
