DescriptionSilver and turquoise needlepoint bracelet consisting of six parallel, identical, narrow silver bands, which are joined at each end. The bands each have a stamped double oval design at either end. Each band is set with twenty-four pieces of needlpoint turquoise; one hundred and forty-four stones in total. A handmade silver drop is set between the points of each stone, and there is a row of silver drops at either side of the bracelet.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksOctavius Seowtewa during collection review visit February 17 and 18, 2010 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 4”): This is a very fine example of needlepoint jewelry. Each turquoise is dome-shaped, not flat. They well set and are perfectly spaced and aligned. The silver drops are handmade, fully round, and individually soldered. Mr. Seowtewa confirmed this is the work of Hugh Bowekaty, who is well-known for his high-quality needlepoint jewelry.
