DescriptionAcoma polychrome circular tile; three-color; white slipped with black and orange painted decoration. The design consists of a stylized thunderbird with hatched scroll elements. Two perforations near one edge for hanging, orange base.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit November 29-30, and December 1, 2016 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 7”): This tile is handmade with traditional natural materials. It is a decorative piece to hang on a wall. The bird is a thunderbird.
