DescriptionAcoma polychrome bowl; three-color; white slipped exterior with black painted decoration. The design consists of ten panels black triangles creating a negative (white space) zigzag design and vertical bands of hatching; dark brown, flat base with fire clouds, and red slipped interior. The rim is slightly sculpted with a chip.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit May 9-11, 2017 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 8”): This bowl has a slightly sculpted rim. The base is a dark brown color. Nothing more was said about this bowl.

Note: The shape of the sculpted rim on bowls may be to help prevent cracks from forming during firing and use.
