DescriptionAcoma polychrome jar; four-color; white slip with black and yellow painted decoration. The design consists of six orange and black geometric stepped design, red underbody, and un-polished red slipped interior. Out-flaring rim.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit May 9-11, 2017 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 8”): This is an unusual form for period it was made. The design looks similar to that of pueblo embroidery designs. The black paint is very dark and the interior and exterior red slip are the same. The interior rim (1 ½ in) is the color of the clay. The interior shine shows heavy use. There is no line break on this jar.
