Tribal Collection Review RemarksOctavius Seowtewa during collection review visit Nov. 16 and 17, 2009 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 3”): Several aspects of this painting have been changed from how they would really be depicted on the type of altar from which this scene was derived. This may have been done by the artist so that he could paint a scene that was similar to a particular type of altar, but without revealing too many sacred details. The Zuni word for rainbow is amidolanne.
