Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit December 7 and 8, 2010 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 5”): The materials used are silver jet, mother of pearl, coral, turquoise, and abalone. The technique used is raised mosaic inlay. The current catalog description calls the design “kachina masks”; this should be changed to Antelope kokkos. (The Zuni word for antelope is ma’we.) Mr. Seowtewa and Mr. Enote suggested that Derek and Vivian Hattie may have been the artists. Derek is the son of Buddy and Anita Hattie (makers of IAF.S716A-E).
