Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit April 22-24, 2015 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo, Review 1”): The insects in the design are ants. Pottery jewelry is not widely made but started around the 1960s-1970s. Pearl Valdo, who made one ca. 1970, stated that the beads are not easy to create because of the holes necessary to string them. Rebecca’s daughter also made one ca. 2000. There are several potters who sell pottery jewelry at Acoma on the mesa top. Marie’s great granddaughter, Michelle Lowden, is currently making jewelry with pottery designs on balsa wood. Michelle's business is Milo Creations.
