DescriptionAcoma polychrome bird bowl; three-color; white slip with red and black painted decoration. The design includes geometric red diamonds, triangles, and hatched stepped designs; modeled bird head and red looped tail feathers above rim.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit November 29-30, and December 1, 2016 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 7”): This bird basket is handmade with commercial materials including the paint and clay. The red paint may be natural paint. The artist made pottery from the 1980’s -1990’s. She is no longer living.
