DescriptionAcoma polychrome pottery basket, three-color; tan colored exterior with dark brown and orange painted decoration. The design consists of two dark brown birds with white speckles that extend from rim. Three coil orang slipped handle.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit May 9-11, 2017 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 8”): The exterior of this piece may be slipped with a beige colored clay different from the usual Acoma white slip that is typically applied to the exterior. Not all of the participants agreed on this. Not much more was said about this piece.
