DescriptionAcoma black-on-white square basket shape with squared handle. White slipped with black painted design. The design consists of a hatched filled (rain line) alternating triangle band on the handle, and black filled triangles with hatched filled (rain lines) triangles on the sides, and four split leaves on the base. Flat base.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit November 29-30, and December 1, 2016 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 7”): This basket may have been used to carry corn meal. It is not an unusual shape. Not much more was said about this basket.
