Tribal Collection Review RemarksOctavius Seowtewa during collection review visit Nov. 16 and 17, 2009 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 3”): The frogs on this jar are quite unusual. The geometric designs between the frogs are not conventional representations of any traditional Zuni designs. The small birds above the frogs are meant to represent rainbirds. The jar is rough and unfinished on the interior, while the base is poorly made and not polished. The catalog record states that the source is unknown and the piece was accessioned in 1931.
