DescriptionAcoma (Ako) polychrome small bowl; cream slipped with black and red painted decoration. The design consists of black geometric designs some with red interiors within framing lines, and red base. Convex body.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit May 9-11, 2017 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 8”): There are not many pieces from this time period (Ako) from Acoma in collections. Most of the participants have not seen Ako pieces before this so it was difficult to make comparisons. They did comment that the design looks Zuni-like.
