Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit December 7 and 8, 2010 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 5”): The materials used are brass and a green stone that may be rhyolite. One of the bird carvings has a chipped beak. In 2001, Kent McManis's suggested an attribution of Leekya Deyuse for the stone carvings, but he thought a different artist may have made the brass portions and assembled the necklace and earrings, incorporating the stone carvings. Mr. Seowtewa agrees with the Leekya Deyuse attribution, but suggests that Deyuse made the entire set, and not only the carvings.
