DescriptionAn earring in the shape of a butterfly, mosaic inlay on silver. Part of a five-piece set consisting of a pair of earrings, a pin, a ring, and a bracelet, with each item shaped as a butterfly. The materials used include silver, mother of pearl, jet, and turquoise.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit December 7 and 8, 2010 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 5”): The materials used are silver, mother of pearl, turquoise, and jet. The technique used is mosaic inlay. The Zuni word for butterfly is bulakya.
