Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit December 7 and 8, 2010 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 5”): The materials used are silver, abalone, melon shell (identified as “cream shell” in the current catalog description), tortoiseshell, and turquoise. The technique used is raised channel inlay. The turtle’s heads, feet, and tails are inlaid with dark tortoiseshell. There is a bird beak hallmark stamped on the back of the necklace.
