Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit February 16 and 17, 2011 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 6”): Both of these silver earrings have partial areas of brass. The artist may have bent the silver without heating it properly, causing it to crack. Brass could have been used to fill the cracks through the technique of brazing. A note on the catalog card indicates that they may have been made between 1880 and 1900. This date of manufacture is probably correct.
