DescriptionSmall basket (part A) with a lid (part B), made with a foundation of rattan round reed (1mm dia) and weft of natural color and dyed raffia. Decorated with a depiction of thirteen dancers with their backs to the viewer, holding hands. There are seven female dancers and six male dancers. Four of the female dancers have small glass beads (Charlotte, sizes 13 and 15) sewn to the backs of their moccasins. Colors used include the natural color of the raffia, black, yellow, and varying shades of orange, red, purple, blue, and green. The lid has a small knob on top and fits well on the basket (not loose, but not difficult to remove). Very small stitches were used to construct the piece.
