Tribal Collection Review RemarksAccording to the participants in the Acoma collection review visit February 17-19, 2016 (Events Record “Collection Review: Acoma Pueblo Review 5”): Stella Shutiva is the daughter of Jessie Garcia; both are now deceased. This jar was made with traditional materials and was fired outdoors. Stella rarely painted pieces like this one. She was more known for her corrugated pieces. She became an award winning artist. Her daughters are: Sandra Garcia and Jackie Histia, who are both potters. Jackie signs her pots "Jackie Shutiva Histia."
