DescriptionGiclée print. Scene of Santa Fe Indian Market at the Plaza, in front of the Governor's Palace. There is a Hollywood-style Santa Fe sign in the hills above town. There is also a Zozobra effigy, with a sign next to him reading "Welcome to Zozobraland--Theme Park--Spa". The scene of the Indian Market, in the foreground, features camera-toting tourists, people fighting over ceramic pots, a Lone Ranger and Tonto pair, a man dressed as a koshare on a skateboard, Native Americans selling their art, an Anglo hippy selling Indian jewelry, and many other whimsical characters.
The Indian Arts Research Center, in collaboration with Native American community scholars, strives to present accurate collections records. Records may be updated as new information becomes available and is reviewed with the Native American community having cultural affinity to particular items. Please write to iarc@sarsf.org if you have questions or concerns related to the documentation.
