DescriptionThis seed beater is made of willow, redbud, and tamarisk. The overall shape is that of a very large spoon. It is formed from a bundle of slender willow branches stitched together with interior willow bark and redbud bark. The willow branches are stitched tightly together at the top, to form a round handle. From the base of the handle they are spread out to form the convex portion. The edges, and the scooped shape, are stabilized with a tamarisk rim rod, to which the outer willow branches are firmly stitched using interior willow bark.
