DescriptionAcrylic, oil pastel, and sand painting based on ndiníyílii (sunflowers) untitled poem by Gloria Emerson. This is a landscape study created during Gloria's 2002 Dobkin Fellowship. The gray sand is from north of Lybrook, NM on Highway 64; the gold sand from north of Cuba, NM on Highway 64; the dark brown sand from north of Cuba, NM on Highway 64; the gold clay was from Dolly Naranjo Neikrug; the lime from SAR; the sugar from SAR; the cement from SAR campus; and the dark blue sand from near Junction to Dulce off Highway 64. This is a visual interpretation of her poetry.
