DescriptionHandwrought oval box with turquoise and coral channel inlay work on lid. Channel work consists of central turquoise circle with alternating bands of coral and turquoise radiating out from it. The turquoise pieces are not uniform in color and they contain many bits of matrix. Sides of box are stamped with row of ovals.
Tribal Collection Review RemarksJim Enote and Octavius Seowtewa during collection review visit December 7 and 8, 2010 (Events Record “Collection Review: Zuni Tribe, Review 5”): The materials used are silver, turquoise, and coral. The inlay technique used is channel inlay. The current catalog description is accurate.
